Requiescat in Pace

In your charity please pray for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Dorothy Chamberlain who passed away during this past week.

Daylight Saving Time

Don’t forget that we spring forward into Daylight Saving Time next Saturday night.  Avoid being late to Mass and adjust your timepieces accordingly!

The Spirit of Lent

Today is the Third Sunday in Lent and we should continue renewing, on a daily basis if necessary, our commitment to the fasting laws and to our own voluntary penances.  The nature of the penance is to make a sacrifice of forty days, not just whenever it’s convenient.  Avoid parties and any kind of celebrations arranged by those who are more secular in their thinking.  Avoid going to the bar, to clubs and other places where there is dancing or other worldly activities.  Such places are often inappropriate all year round, but during Lent they should be completely avoided as the near occasions of sin that they are.
