It was with profound fascination that I read this week an address that Archbishop Vigano had been scheduled to give at a traditional Catholic conference this week. Evidently, his message was too much for the organizers of the event, who are the type of traditionalists who insist on recognizing Bergoglio as the “Holy Father” and Vicar of Christ. On seeing what he was planning to say, they promptly cancelled the Archbishop from the roster of speakers. And why? Because Archbishop Vigano evidently has serious doubts as to the validity of Bergoglio’s papacy and refutes the arguments of those who prefer to recognize and resist. He roundly and in no uncertain terms condemns Bergoglio as the Inimicus Ecclesiae, the Enemy of the Church, a man who infiltrated himself into the papacy for the express purpose of destroying the Church.
This is strong stuff, coming from a conciliar Archbishop, and we should be comforted and in holy admiration that God has given such graces to someone in his position. What he says is of course not news to those of us who have held his beliefs for many years. But what is new is the source. What sedevacantists have been saying for years, to the horror even of other traditionalist groups, is now being shouted from the rooftops by a high-ranking member of Bergoglio’s own Church. It gives us an intriguing insight into the growing mindset within that Church that perhaps Vatican II and its modernist changes were not quite so beneficial as was blindly assumed all along. It also gives us hope that the silent rebellion in the Conciliar Church is finally finding its voice and will apply the pressure necessary to restore that Church to its rightful place as the Infallible Teacher of Truth and Morals.
Here’s part of what Archbishop Vigano was not allowed to say. He’s trying to find a common starting point for true Catholics to come together “in trying to remedy the disconcerting, scandalous presence of a Pope who presents himself with ostentatious arrogance as Inimicus Ecclesiae, and who acts and speaks as such. An enemy who, precisely because he occupies the Throne of Peter and abuses papal authority, is capable of inflicting a terrible and disastrous blow, such as no external enemy in the entire history of the Church has ever been able to cause. The worst persecutors of Christians, the fiercest adherents of the Masonic Lodges, and the most unrestrained heresiarchs have never before succeeded, in such a short time and with such effectiveness in devastating the Lord’s vineyard, scandalizing the faithful, disgusting the Ministers, discrediting its authority and authoritativeness before the world, and demolishing the Magisterium, Faith, Morals, Liturgy, and discipline… So: Bergoglio is a heretic and blatantly hostile to the Church of Christ. To carry out the task assigned to him by the deep church, he concealed his most extreme positions, so as to find a sufficient number of votes in the Conclave. To ensure total obedience, those who hatched the plan made sure that he was widely blackmailable, as always happens. And once elected, Bergoglio was able to show himself for what he is and begin the demolition of the Church and the Papacy.”
Archbishop Vigano backs up his statements with sound arguments that, according to expert church lawyers, “have strong teeth.” His entire address, entitled Vitium Consensus, is well worth reading, and can be found on his association’s website https://exsurgedomine.it/en/230930-cic-ita/. If you seek a deeper understanding of the situation in the Church today, please take the time to read this in its entirety, praying your Rosary especially during this month of October for the Restoration of the Church and Peace in the World.
