Devotions to the Holy Face

Start your devotions by reciting the Golden Arrow Prayer, dictated
by our Lord to Sister Mary of St. Peter.
May the most holy, most sacred, most
adorable, most incompre-hensible and unutterable Name of God
be ever praised, blessed, loved, adored and glorified, in heaven,
on earth, and under the earth, by all the creatures of God,
in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Amen.

Recite the following prayers devoutly and reverently.
O Lord, Jesus Christ, in presenting ourselves before thine adorable
Face to ask of thee the graces of which we stand most in need, we
beseech thee, above all, to grant us that interior disposition of
never refusing at any time to do what thou requirest of us by thy
holy commandments and divine inspirations. Amen.
O good Jesu, who hast said, 'Ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye
shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you,' grant us, O Lord,
that faith which obtaineth all, and supply in us what may be
deficient; grant us, by the pure effect of thy charity, and for
thine eternal glory, the graces which we need and we look for from
thine infinite mercy. Amen.
Be merciful unto us, O my God, ad reject not our prayers, when
amidst our afflictions we call upon thy Holy Name and seek with love
and confidence thine adorable Face. Amen.
O Almighty and Everlasting God, look upon the Face of thy beloved
Son our Lord Jesus Christ. We present it to thee with
confidence, to implore thy pardon. As our all-merciful
Advocate doth open his mouth to plead our cause, hear his cries and
behold his tears, O God, and through his infinite merits hearken to
his intercession for us poor miserable sinners. Amen.
O most adorable Face of my Jesus, my only love, my light and my
life, grant that I may know, love and serve thee alone, that I may
live with thee, of thee, and for thee. Amen.
Eternal Father, I offer thee the adorable Face of thy beloved Son
for the honour and glory of thy most Holy Name, for the conversion
of sinners, and for the salvation of the dying. Amen.
O divine Jesu, through thy Face and Name, save us. Our hope is
in the virtue of thy Holy Name!
You may conclude your devotions by reciting the Chaplet of the Holy
Face, the Litany of the Holy Face, or simply by meditating on the
Passion of our Lord and the suffering he endured for our sins.
"O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy
upon me a sinner."
Arise, O Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered,
and let
all that hate thee flee before thy Holy Face.
